Yes, the Vitamix blender is expensive. But we have been using our Vitamix for the last 20 years. And yes it is loud. I swear we could mix concrete in it. The bottom line for us is our Vitamix is a great value. We often use our blender. So it always stays on our kitchen counter unlike many other kitchen gadgets that end up in a cabinet out of sight.

Kenny, if take into account that a Vitamix could last 20 years (and they do) they really are not that expensive. If you only spend $100 on a cheap on you may find yourself replacing it frequently.

The common theme with all these blenders is noise and price.
I know from using one at home myself (not one of these) many years ago that they are very noisy, I found that it was something that one had to get used to or use it when no-one else was around.
I guess time doesn’t fix some problems.
One thing that seems to be far better is that the machine can wash itself once we add some dish washing liquid, now that is just fantastic. Almost a deal clincher in fact.

I simply enjoy using Vitamix especially for fruit shakes. I bought it 2 years ago it it works like new. It is very easy to use and it is practical. It is a little loud but it is definitely worth it. I am glad that I have read this review and remind myself of all great benefits that Vitamix have.

The Vitamix E310 Blender really does look like a decent piece of kit, and the video seems to back this up…but I’m slightly concerned about one of the cons you mentioned in the review.
About a year ago I purchased a much cheaper blender for use every morning with making smoothies. The main problem with this cheaper model was the noise it made, because one of my kid’s bedrooms is directly above the kitchen area (numerous mornings where I had a grumpy teenager descending the stairs complaining about the noise!).
Would you say this blender is as noisy as the cheaper models or slightly better overall?

I’ve heard of the Vitamix blenders, but never really looked into them. From your review, it does sound like the pros outweigh the cons. I find it particularly interesting that there are no proprogrammed controls, as most blenders, especially the expensive ones, come with a lot of these. Personally, I’ve never found the programmed settings all that useful on blenders. But any thoughts on why the Vitamix E310 skipped this popular feature?
Like you said, they are not that useful. And with it only taking 30-60 seconds to blend, you really need to stand there and observe it while its running.
Bought the E310 recently, I don’t regret it, that was an excellent choice to say the least. It produces super fine texture soup in 30 seconds. Its very easy when cleaning and assembling . also its small size can fit in kitchen cabinet without any hustle.
E310 is a budget blender but can do everything other models do. Though it comes with a 48oz cantainer, its base is very much compatible with 64oz legacy containers. Vitamix E310 is a good bet.
