Customers like the quality of the countertop oven. They say it's a nice oven that takes up some good space, but it has a good view of the food. It does great on finishing steaks, and the rotisserie works well for pork loin roasts. It's also a fairly well constructed appliance, and there are no problems with pizzas.

Some mention that it heats up quite nicely, does both high and low temp cooking well, and is a great place to warm plates or keep other foods warm. Customers are mixed about the convection in the countertop oven. Some mention that the feature was great, with excellent baking options and the ability to turn the convvection fan on and off. However, others say that it stopped working completely, did not operate properly, and the built-in rotisserie forks did not do a very good job of securing the chicken.

Some mention that it's pretty quiet for a countertop convection oven, while others say that it is noisier than any countertop convvection they have ever owned. Hamilton Beach wins it for me. First, you can't beat the price, especially since it compares favorably with the Breville Smart Oven which sells at a much heftier price. Looks are fabulous and it fits so nicely on my countertop. It appears to be of outstanding quality but light-weight enough to carry to another room. Knobs are clear and precise. It has a two-hour timer and shuts off automatically when the timer goes off. But best of all, you can bake two items at a time in this oven since it comfortably holds two racks. It comes with two baking pans, two wire racks, an insert rack for the baking pans and a rotisserre set. It does not have a toaster but that's not what I was looking for. I was looking for a good old fashioned oven/broiler/convection.
I ordered this for all the above reasons PLUS I bake my own yeast bread and I read a review that one customer had marvelous results with it.
The only downside I noticed is that there isn't a light inside which I would have appreciated. But for the price, that's not a big deal. I was able to get it on Amazon for $89!! And, it was delivered free within two days of ordering!
The oven does get hot so I made sure there was enough clearance around the oven although the brochure never mentions that.
I only just received it today and I'm having great fun playing with it.
UPDATE: Still loving my Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven. It is very accurate and does a fantastic job of baking. I wouldn't be without it and if Hamilton Beach ever comes out with an even larger inside dimension oven, I'm getting it on the spot.
UPDATE 11/1/12: Still loving my Hamilton Beach Convection Oven. My one callout...and I believe it could become a serious one...is that it is so easy to get a bad burn from this product. Tonight was the worst burn I ever received. The problem for me is the glass door. It is so immensely hot that my finger just quickly brushed against it tonight and I immediately got a big blister...it was THAT hot. While I would not hesitate to purchase another Hamilton Beach countertop oven, I would like to make the following suggestion...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE put a black thin silicone edging around the entire glass door to prevent burns. It's those sneaky burns from the edge of the glass door that are so painful. Thank you.
All "air fryers" are just poorly-designed convection ovens. Fans drive hot air around food, that's it. Both do the same thing, except "air fryers" are designed to look like deep fryers, in spite of the inefficiency of baking with this design. So, when you're in the market for an "air fryer" you're really just wanting a convection oven with fewer options.
This convection oven, however, can also broil, rotisserie, and bake, on multiple racks.
Its biggest strength is its utility as a extra oven, or a stand-alone oven for a small family. It can handle full-sized frozen pizzas, two at a time (obviously you should rotate the racks during cooking, but that's true with traditional kitchen floor ovens). It also small enough to be able to work as a toaster oven.
The rotisserie works very well for pork loin roasts, though I wouldn't put an American chicken on it. It's a feature that I would gladly have paid less to be without.
It's lasted for me for 2 years of daily use, but only because I took certain precautions before using it:
I keep mine on a wire metal rack with nothing flammable or meltable above it, with good clearance around the top and left side, because both do get very hot. I would not put this somewhere without at least 4" (10cm) of clearance around all sides, at all time. No mail, no papers, no documents, no cooking parchment, no rolls of foil.
The drip tray at the bottom I line with heavy-duty aluminum foil, so that I can just take it out and discard the foil when it becomes too soiled.
I never, ever touch the glass with something cold or wet when it's hot, and I always support the door when it's in the down position. The glass door has to be the most fragile part of this construction, and because it's tempered, it will shatter at the smallest chip or crack, and possibly with a large temperature differential (though there are formulations of glass that prevent this, like those made for induction cooktops, I'm not going to be the one to test if it is or not).
If you treat it well, it will serve you well.

Regarding size, it's quite large for a toaster oven, you can fit pretty much anything you wanna cook for 2 in there, probably wont fit a turkey though.. I haven't tried that though.
A lot of comments complain that it heats up a lot on the outside.. it does.. but thats why you use mittens. As i said this is my first oven so I'm no way an oven expert but i think it's quite normal that it heats up and i don't think it presents amy dangers if you ise mittens.
Over all, great compact oven, looks good, operates easy, makes best chicken.

Wasn't sure how much would use it but it's so much faster than oven to heat have found it indispensable.
